Jews have lived in Turkey (Asia Minor) for thousands of years. Many places mentioned in the Old Testament are located in Turkey, and the two rivers mentioned in The Bible that flow to the Garden of Eden originate in this country.

Jews in Turkey, many of whom had escaped The Inquisition in Spain and Portugal, have been living largely in peace and without persecution for over 500 years, occupying prominent roles in Turkish society and government. In fact, David Ben-Gurion, the primary founder of the State of Israel and the first Prime Minister of Israel, studied law at Istanbul University. Today, Istanbul alone is home to 16 active synagogues.

We have designed Jewish Tours ranging from one day (even as Shore Excursions) to 15 days in duration, and including immersion programs with local Turkish Jewish families and organizations.
