The Tulip was originally introduced to Holland from the Ottoman Empire. Turkey, rich in plant biodiversity, is home to more than 9,000 varieties of plants. Flowers, in particular, have inspired Turkish carpet weavers and tile artists for hundreds of years. This tour is best scheduled for April and May, during the peak bloom season, and can coincide with the “Tulip Festival” in Istanbul, which features beautiful tulip displays all around the city, totaling more than 18 million bulbs.
