Hotel Openings in Turkey in 2016

We have all heard unfortunate news from Turkey this year. But, despite these isolated events, Turkey has remained vibrant. Indeed, those who have visited Turkey in the last two months have reported having great times without any issues or hassles. In fact, the slower-than-usual tourist season has actually enabled unique opportunities for creating bespoke travel experiences (without summer crowds)!

There are fantastic new properties opening up – below is just a sampling of these ideas for your consideration:

BODRUM:
Bodrum is the epitome of Mediterranean life – with amazing hotels, coastlines, restaurants, and nightlife – and it has only gotten better over time. In the last few years, we saw the openings of wonderful resorts including the Mandarin Oriental and the one-of-a-kind Aman Resort called Amanruya (Ruya means “dream” in Turkish). This year, two more in-demand properties have opened, each with a distinct theme:
* Canyon Ranch Wellness Resort and Spa launches its first-ever location outside of the U.S. – selecting Bodrum as its inaugural international property. It has a beautiful location, with fantastic facilities, and amazing health & wellness-based packages. This is a good time to book as the rates are (temporarily) more affordable than usual!
* Il Riccio – yes, the same Il Riccio Beach Club of Capri Palace – has also opened in Bodrum as Il Riccio Beach House and Restaurant. It is a truly boutique place – with a hotel section of just 10 beautiful rooms and phenomenal food and drink options.

MARMARIS:
Marmaris and its surroundings (Göcek, Ölüdeniz, and Dalyan), are home to some of the most picturesque beaches in the Turkish Riviera. One of our favorite properties in this area is D-Hotel Maris, a member of Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel offers private car or helicopter transfers from Dalaman Airport (80 miles away).

This region offers many lovely boutique hotels and villas that are excellent for both couples and families. Just let us know what you are looking for and we will be happy so provide you with tailored recommendations.

ISTANBUL:
Istanbul continues to be a major tourist destination, and global hotel groups are continuing to make significant, long-term investments in the city! Many new hotels have opened in Istanbul this year – four Radissons and four Hilton properties, and one each from Pullman, Novotel, Clarion, Ibis, Steigenberger and Mercure.

In addition, we should highlight two luxury properties that will be opening soon:
* There will be a new Fairmont in Istanbul – the Fairmont Quasar, which will feature 209 luxury rooms, suites, and apartments, a wide selection of restaurants, and a lavish spa and health club.
* The second Mandarin Oriental property in Turkey, the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, is also opening, adding yet another option for luxurious waterfront accommodation in Istanbul, joining the likes of the Ciragan Palace Kempinski, Four Seasons Bosphorus, Shangri-La, Les Ottomans and Armaggan.
