With a history going back thousands of years, Anatolia has seen its share of wars, some of which have changed destinies of empires. Amazingly, some of the battlefields described by historians still remain recognizable, almost the same as they had been at the times of those ancient battles. This tour visits ancient battlegrounds where one can also review tactics of the warring adversaries. Among them are sites of some of the battles that Alexander the Great fought and won against all odds (how did he do it?), the Trojan War, naval battles in Bodrum, Ataturk’s battles during the Turkish War of Independence, as well as the Gallipoli Battle of 1915. This is an ideal tour for military history buffs!
